The Economist (magazine) is right. Tom Peters is really the guru of management gurus. His ideas are crazy, ludicrous, unbelievable - but all of it is true. In fact, its time to sincerely listen to him and act on his recommendations.

I agree completely that we need to think of ourselves as CEOs - whether you're a janitor, a service crew, VP or manager - it pays to think like the CEO of Brand You. It makes a lot of sense. Read Re-Imagine and his rants on the web.

He has outlined a future that is filled with opportunities for us.

How has the book changed me? I found the book on sale when I was frustrated in my career and it completely changed my outlook (just like that). I have devoured most of his books since then. I believe many of us have always felt we were entitled to get jobs or that companies once they accepted us ought to provide us lifetime employment. Life has become more fulfilling and enjoyable when you're the one challenging yourself to be your best everyday. And that's Tom Peters!
