Rudzki's book, Beat The Odds, really hammered home what I already knew about addressing an organization's effectiveness but are easily forgotten, you have to approach it from a broad perspective. Typically people look at problems from a very narrow point of view and our solution misses the mark. Beat The Odds provides a roadmap that brings intentionality and process thinking to addressing the reality that every organization faces; problems and dysfunction. When we take the time to analyze those problems and "normal" behaviors that can drive a leader crazy, we can begin to see the real issues that must be addressed first in order to be able to truly resolve the problem at hand.

Rudzki provides a model that forces you to do that. It provides a means to seek multiple perspectives to see the problem clearly, it gives a lot of tips and tools to then deal with that problem in a holistic way, and his anecdotal examples also help you relate to what he is championing.
